Local 37s
Pension
Theirs and
ours
Brothers and Sisters have
you ever wondered why our own infamous Business Manager
Ron Dejuliis has not in
SIXTEEN YEARS made an effort to improve our pension plan
to where it is comparable to other IUOE where the
retirees have a livable pension? Regardless of all the
hype and lies and ridiculous statements and handouts
throws our way our pension plan is the worst in the
United States and Canada. Check around Go to
freeerissa.com and do a little research. When you punch
up 37s even the computer is going TSK-TSK and a little
giggle. Even the computer is embarrassed for our paltry,
sub-poverty pension.
Well to answer the
question of why he is so indifferent and arrogant and
treats us like we’re stupid little kids when he asks
questions like “why would you guys want to belong to the
Central Pension fund” and then inundates us with his
stupid reasons why we shouldn’t belong to it.
If you recall I pointed
out that the officers are blessed with THREE pensions:
37s sick poverty plan, the Central Pension Plan, and the
very lucrative General Pension Plan. I can’t verify
this, but I am told by a friend at the
IUOE headquarters
DeJuliis has another plan
because he is a Chair of auditors there.
The General fund works
like this:
For example if a member is
employed by local 37 for 10 years the member would
receive 3% of their last
3years average salary. If the average salary is
$60,000.00 the formula would be:
3% X 10 X $60,000.
=$18,000. Per yr.
From what my friend tells
me he think it caps out at
$80,000. But that may have been lifted. We’ll work with
the 80 cap.
Dejuliis has
been up the hall since 1979 which would give him 27
years of eligibility. To be conservative we’ll use
25yrs.:
3% X 25yrs X $80,000. =
$60,000. He receives from the General.
I received info on the
Central Pension Fund, you
know the one he asked why we would want to belong to.
Stupid question but an intelligent answer, we want to
retire not have to stand in a soup line, jerk!! As of
12/01 he had a monthly benefit of $2,630.16 or a yearly
benefit of $ 31,561.92, Why
would you guys want that?
He became
an member of 37 in 8/69 which
is 37 yrs but we’ll cheat
him and only give him $1200. A month
or $14,000.yr.
So figure it up: General -
$60,000.00
Central - $31,561.92
37s
Poverty - $14,000.
$105,561.00
That equates to $8,796.75
per month or $2,199.18 per week.
The other officers,
Hamel,
Shanahan, VanDommelin,
Etc. are in the same lucrative pensions plans. You can
now see why VanDommelin and
Shanahan sit in the back at
the meetings, to intimidate, so you won’t ask questions
that would expose their conspiracy to keep you in the
dark. If any body is afraid to ask questions just
remember the LMRDA. The union
members bill of rights. They violate these and
they will answer to the Feds.
Stand up Brothers and Sisters, your future is now. It is
going to take years to clean up this mess. While you are
cleaning it up they are going to be sitting back
enjoying retirement like you
and I will never be able to do with things the way they
are now. When a person retires they want to relax and
not be forced to work to survive. Another little bit of
info to fuel your disgust. The office personnel are in
the Central Fund and after 11 yrs
of service will receive $1500.+
the same as a hard working member with 30
yrs. Service.
It really doesn’t matter
how you feel about those people up the hall, the point
is we are working to support their high rollers life
style. They don’t want us to know how much they are
reaping from our efforts. Do you think they feel guilty
or remorseful or even care about us? Look at the
figures, have any of them ever mentioned the fact that
they are getting fat off of the members that are out in
the cold, heat, rain, snow and wind.
Of course not. If they cared they would come out
and help when you called them or make things fair and
impartial when one of their relatives or suck ups abuse
the powers of their office, such as
MMs . When you call them, heaven help you because
no matter how much in the right you are, you are 100% in
the wrong. How dare you question anything or complain.
Brother you want this job? Shut up, stop starting
S**t or you’ll be on that
long bench. I’ve been there and I bet a lot of you have
too.
Let’s reform this local
Dejuliis “LOVES” so much and
make it work for the members not for the few that hold
us in contempt as in plantation workers. Stand up our
benefits are deplorable. Join together and demand what’s
right. We have to hold these arrogant and
indifferent leaders
accountable for what they’ve done and continue to do
this once proud local.
